Arkansas State Elks Association's Major Project is financial and volunteer support for the Human Development Centers in Arkansas. These centers, (Five) in the State of Arkansas operate Intermediate Care Facilities, provide medical, residential, rehabilitation and education services for individuals who reside in the five Human Development Centers. The Human Development Centers provide services to individuals the age of six years and up with a dual diagnosis, which includes both a developmental disability and mental illness, and individuals who are medically fragile or have severe aggressive behaviors.
Over the past twenty years Arkansas Elks have donated in excess of $500,000 to the five centers for the purchase of furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies for use in recreational and extra curricular activities.
The five Human Development Centers are located in Arkadelphia, Booneville, Conway, Jonesboro, and Warren Arkansas.
